The 2023 MLS Cup playoffs will coincide with several other sporting events in various leagues across North America to create a sports equinox. Teams from MLS, NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL will all take the stage for the third consecutive year and the first time since October 23, 2022.
Tonight's action in the playoffs sees Orlando City take on Nashville SC at Exploria Stadium in game one, while Seattle Sounders also play their first game of the postseason against FC Dallas at Lumen Field. But the sports action doesn't stop there. In the NFL, we have Monday Night Football, which sees the Las Vegas Raiders clash with the Detroit Lions.
Some enticing NBA matchups include the Miami Heat vs the Milwaukee Bucks and the Utah Jazz vs the Denver Nuggets, while the Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers square off in NHL action.
Alongside MLS, the MLB is currently in its postseason and nearing its conclusion -- the World Series -- as the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks go head-to-head in game three with the series tied at one apiece.
As as far MLS playoffs go, we've already seen some stunning goals as well as some shocking upsets in the Wild Card and into the first round of the postseason. And after the conclusion of tonight's contests, there's still more MLS postseason action on deck with Columbus Crew taking on Atlanta United at Lower.com Field on November 1.
