Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City are continuing to monitor Michael Kayode despite the full-back signing a new deal at Fiorentina, 90min understands.

Kayode has been one of the breakout young starts of the 2023/24 Serie A season so far, thoroughly impressing in his six appearances for top four contenders Fiorentina. The full-back put in a particularly eye-catching performance in La Viola's recent win over Scudetto holders Napoli - a game in which he kept Ballon d'Or nominee Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at bay.

As well as playing well in Serie A, Kayode has also been a star for Italy's youth teams in recent years, scoring the winning goal in the final of the Under-19 European Championship back in July and recently earning his first Under-21 call-up.

The 19-year-old's form has notably alerted some of Europe's top clubs, and 90min understands that Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter and SSC Napoli have all scouted the player in recent months.

Amid a wave of interest from some of Europe's top clubs, Fiorentina have been keen to tie Kayode down to a long-term deal at the Artemio Franchi, and the club have now announced they've agreed terms on a new five-year contract with the youngster:

"ACF Fiorentina is pleased to announce that Michael Kayode has extended his contract with the club until 30 June 2028," read the statement announcing the deal.

Reports in Italy recently stated that the new contract sees Kayode's salary rise from €30,000 per year to around €1m per year.

Although now tied down to a longer term deal at Fiorentina, sources have confirmed the 90min that suitors are still keen to sign Kayode in the future.

Top clubs see Kayode as potentially a 'special' player in the long-term as he develops, with the new contract being seen as a mechanism to lock in the player's value on the transfer market as opposed to a sign that Kayode will not be available to purchase any time soon.
