The Liberty are starting to look like the team many had hoped when the team brought in the likes of Breanna Stewart, Courtney Vandersloot and more this past offseason.
New York is off a 15-point road win against the Storm, and now head back home to host the worst team in the WNBA this season in the Phoenix Mercury. New York has been on a tear on both sides of the floor, but particularly the offensive side, as the team has scored 80 or more in six straight games, including an 89-71 win against the Mercury on June 18th.
Can we expect more of the same with the Liberty laying double digits? Here are the odds:

Mercury vs. Liberty prediction and pick
It's been a dismal year for Phoenix, who checks in dead last in the league in both offensive and defensive rating. Predictably, the team is also last in net rating at -10.8, per WNBA.com. The Mercury are going to struggle to slow down a Liberty offense that is firing on all cylinders, scoring 107.2 points per 100 possessions, trailing only the Aces for the best mark and more than four points clear of the third best team.
Where the Mercury have truly struggled is its ball handling. The team is turning it over on 22% of its possessions this season, something that has led to the team getting blown out with relative ease. In Phoenix's last eight losses, all have been by double digits.
With the Liberty's top five defense paired with the second best offense, I can't count on Phoenix to stay within striking distance. I'll back New York to win big.
