'Maybe those gag orders are a good idea': Jimmy Fallon mocks Donald Trump over his city name flub during Iowa campaign stop

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During the latest installment of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', the host didn't shy away from taking a dig at Donald Trump for his latest gaffe and compared him to Joe Biden, who is known for his frequent slip-ups.

Notably, the former POTUS recently messed up a city's name while addressing a crowd during an Iowa campaign stop.

Donald Trump's geography gaffe leaves rally-goers amused and confused

Donald Trump, who is known for his often unpredictable speeches, didn't seem to quite know where he was during his latest campaign stop.

The moment was captured on camera when he addressed the crowd by saying, "Well, thank you very much. And a very big hello to a place where we've done very well. Sioux Falls. Thank you very much, Sioux Falls."

However, the crowd quickly corrected him with a chorus of boos, making it clear that they were in Sioux City, not Sioux Falls.

Trump, seemingly unfazed, continued with, "So Sioux City, let me ask you... 'Wh-- Where was I? Sioux City. Sioux City'."

Jimmy Fallon takes a jab at Donald Trump's latest gaffe

Jimmy Fallon didn't let Donald Trump's slip-up go unnoticed.

In his characteristic witty style, he commented on the incident during his monologue, saying, "Biden was like, 'Someone help that poor old man. He's confused and disoriented.' Even the biggest Trump supporters are thinking, 'Maybe those gag orders are a good idea'."

The reference to "gag orders" here is a nod to the legal measures put in place to restrict Trump's post-presidential activities, including his ability to address the public.

Fallon continued, "Yeah, it makes sense that he was confused. It was the first time in months he'd been in a room without a jury, so, yeah."

The entire room erupted in laughter as Fallon delivered the joke, highlighting the fact that Trump is no stranger to legal proceedings and courtroom appearances.

Of course, Trump's mix-up didn't end with mistaking Sioux City for Sioux Falls. He went on to express his admiration for Dr Seuss, the beloved children's author, but somehow ended up referring to him as "Dr Sue."

"You guys hear about this?" quipped Fallon, emphasizing the hilarity of Trump's off-script moments.

The host also brought up the recent suspension of Mike Pence's 2024 presidential campaign, raising the question, "Can you stop something that never started?" as he took a dig at Pence.

Internet reacts to Jimmy Fallon mocking Donald Trump's city name gaffe

Soon after Jimmy Fallon's playful jab at Donald Trump for his recent city name blunder during a campaign stop surfaced, netizens wasted no time joining him when it came to mocking the former POTUS.

One user quipped, "Trump trying his standup routine and not pulling it off."

"I love the Trump impression of Biden trying to find his way off the stage, but even better is Trump's impression of himself trying to find his way out of his own brain," commented another.

A person said, "Trump becomes crazier by the day," while one joked, "The only reason why he doesn't forget his name is because it's plastered all over the place."
