Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is unhurt after being involved in a car accident on Saturday night following his team's Premier League win over Burnley.

Rashford and his colleagues had been dropped off at United's Carrington training ground after returning from the game at Turf Moor, each then making their own way home.

The accident took place not far away, with Rashford's Rolls Royce involved in an accidental collision with another car. Images posted on social media showed significant damage to the rear of his car and debris littering the road. Rashford was reported to have immediately got out and check on the driver of the other vehicle, who was also unhurt. Bruno Fernandes, clearly not far behind after leaving Carrington, was also said to have stopped to help when discovering the scene.

A United spokesperson said in a statement: "Marcus is fine and was not injured. It was an accidental collision as he left the training ground after returning from Burnley. It was an incident involving his car and one driven by a member of the public. Thankfully both were uninjured and no ambulance was required."

Rashford himself posted online on Sunday afternoon: "I'm alright guys, thanks for the messages."

On the pitch, United face a double header against Crystal Palace over the coming days. Tuesday night will see the teams meet at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup third round, which is likely to see Erik ten Hag rest Rashford and a handful of other key starters. Just four days later there will be a second game at Old Trafford, but this time in the Premier League.

Into October, United have a third and fourth consecutive home game when Galatasaray and Brentford visit in the Premier League and Champions League respectively. Club football will then go on a hold again for the second international break of the season until later in the month.
