Lucas Paqueta's move to Manchester City from West Ham United is in doubt, sources have confirmed to 90min.
City had an opening verbal offer worth around £70m rejected by West Ham earlier this month, but talks between the two clubs and intermediaries have continued ever since.
The 2022/23 treble winners have been preparing an improved offer, although talks have stalled in the last few days. That new offer is now on hold because the overall transfer is suddenly in doubt.
Sources have confirmed to 90min that neither club has pulled out of the deal, however, as it stands, things are not progressing. The main issue believed to be West Ham's £85m asking price, although there are other complications too that would need to be resolved as well.

Paqueta has made his feelings clear to West Ham that he is keen to leave the London Stadium this summer and a move to City is an obvious attraction.
City have lost Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez, but so far have only brought in former Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic to help fill the the void left behind. They have also lost new captain Kevin De Bruyne to a serious hamstring injury which is set to sideline him for a number of months.
It remains to be seen if City will continue their pursuit of Paqueta or turn attentions elsewhere. West Ham, for their part, are working on their own targets are hopeful of concluding deals for Ajax's Mohammed Kudus and Stuttgart's Konstantinos Mavropanos.
