COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO: Dean Cain, who played Superman in the 1990s television series 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman', commended 12-year-old Jaiden Rodriguez after he was briefly expelled from school due to a patch on his bag.

The 57-year-old 'God's Not Dead' star penned on platform X ( previously known as Twitter), "Good job, Jaiden. It takes bravery to stand alone for what is right."

Why was Jaiden Rodriguez kicked out of class?

Cain commended Jaiden after he was asked to leave a class at the Vanguard School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, because of a "Don't Tread On Me" patch on his backpack.

The youngster was reportedly suspended from class because the school said the flag on his backpack had "origins in slavery."

However, Benjamin Franklin's cartoon 'Join, or Die', which contains a snake and urges colonial unity, is where the "Don't Tread on Me" sign, commonly referred to as the Gadsden flag, originated.

Is Jaiden allowed to attend school?

Earlier this week, a video of the boy's mother challenging a school official in Colorado Springs over the student's expulsion went viral, drawing considerable attention to the incident.

Jaiden was subsequently permitted to return after the Vanguard School Board of Directors sided with the youngster and his mother.

Dean Cain's fans say 'bravo'

"That’s coming from Superman. No better friend than that," a user tweeted. Another said, "Bravo."

One user claimed, "The kid's 7. Those aren't his opinions. They're his parents'."

"Seethe & cope," commented another fan.

"Yeah cause this nine year old knows. It’s a KID! let him be one," noted another.
