The Georgia football program is dominating in recruitment because the Dawgs have a firm plan of attack under head coach Kirby Smart.

The best teams in any sport typically have a strong identity, and Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs are no different.

The former Georgia football player took over at his alma mater back in 2016 for Mark Richt. By year two, Smart had the Dawgs playing for a national title. In the five years since, Georgia has won back-to-back national titles in 2021 and 2022, playing in a New Year's Six Bowl every January along the way as well. So how is he doing this? It is pretty simple, really. It is all about recruitment.

By focusing in on getting great players out of high school along the offensive and defensive lines, Georgia can overwhelm the opposition in the trenches and play some bully ball. It is working out!

As long as he and his staff continue to put in the work in recruitment, this train will keep on rolling.

Kirby Smart's Georgia football program looks to keep winning big in recruitment

In the first half of July, the Dawgs have gone on quite the run on the recruiting trails. They added Michael Uini on the last day of June, following that up by landing Daniel Calhoun out of my alma mater on July 5, Nyier Daniels on July 7 and Marques Easley on July 8. All four of these guys are four-stars who star along the offensive line. They all help give Georgia the No. 1 class for 2024.

I think we need to give a lot of credit to two coaches on Smart's staff in particular. Stacy Searels has done a remarkable job in recruitment as the Dawgs' offensive line coach. It goes without saying that defensive line coach Tray Scott is one of the very best in the business at what he does. Together, they are helping turn Georgia from an elite program into something that can be dynastic.

Frankly, this is all you can ever ask for. The effort the Dawgs are putting on the recruiting trails are paying out in dividends in the form of New Year's Six Bowls and national championship victories. Repeating was hard, and three-peating feels impossible. However, if anybody is equipped to do it, it is Georgia. This is because they have such a firm identity in what they do with their recruitment.

Assistants may come and go, but it seems as though Smart has great ones in Searels and Scott.
