LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Exclusive sources from Daily Mail reveal that Christine Baumgartner is determined to remain in the $145 million marital home she shared with Kevin Costner, citing the well-being of their children as her motivation. Despite any potential challenges, she is committed to maintaining stability for their family.

Kevin Costner is asserting that Christine Baumgartner has violated their agreement and now desires to reclaim their shared home. Recent sightings of Baumgartner at the property have fueled the dispute. Both parties have requested joint physical and legal custody of their children, Cayden, Hayes, and Grace. Lawyers involved in the case argue that the current situation contradicts the intentions outlined in their premarital agreement, which aimed to prevent such conflicts in the event of a failed marriage.

‘Made to be some gold digger’

One of the couple’s friends said, "Christine is the one who turned the house into a home. She's the one who has been living in the house with the kids all these years, and the kids don't think she should leave either." According to the source, one of the main factors contributing to the deterioration of their relationship was Kevin's infrequent presence at home.

“His priority has been his work, and now all of a sudden the property is so important to him. He's bitter and lashing out because Christine pulled the plug on the marriage. Christine said she's being made to be some gold digger, but for her this isn't about money. It's about keeping some sort of normalcy for the kids."

“If anyone should find a new house, it should be Kevin. Christine is not about to budge, so Kevin should just give in and move on," they added. In legal documents, Kevin Costner, whose net worth is estimated at $250 million, stated that he has made several attempts to persuade his wife, Christine, a 49-year-old model turned handbag designer, to vacate the former marital residence. However, they have been unable to come to an agreement, leaving him without a permanent home.

The prenuptial agreement

According to the prenuptial agreement signed in 2004, Christine was obligated to vacate Kevin's properties and find a new home using a $1.2 million fund in the event of a separation. However, a close friend emphasized that the welfare of Christine's children is of utmost importance to her, surpassing any provisions outlined in a legal document.

Baumgartner has benefited from the advantages of the premarital agreement over the years but is now refusing to accept this specific obligation, according to Costner's legal representation. The couple appears to be headed toward a contentious legal battle reminiscent of the film 'War of the Roses' over their substantial $145 million residence in Carpinteria, California. Costner is the sole owner of the property, having purchased it in 1988, well before their 2004 wedding.

Costner, who has been away filming in Utah, argues that he requires a home as he will be returning from the location in early June. He claims to have experienced homelessness during his previous divorce. The adjacent house, also owned by him, allegedly serves as a film editing location. Costner further asserts that he financially supported Baumgartner's two unsuccessful businesses both before and during their marriage. He accuses her of charging $95,000 to his credit card without prior notice, with the funds allegedly spent on legal fees and a forensic accountant.
