LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner, the 'Yellowstone' star has launched a scathing attack against his estranged wife, Christine Costner, accusing her of trashing his reputation and engaging in a media campaign in their ongoing divorce proceedings. In a recent court filing obtained by RadarOnline the enraged 'Dances With Wolves' star strongly denied the allegations that he intends to evict their three children from his luxurious $145 million compound in California.
Costner expressed his deep offense at Christine's attorneys' repeated and false claims, stating, "I find very offensive her attorneys’ false, oft-repeated, and deliberately inflammatory claims that I am seeking to ‘kick my children’ out of their home." He firmly asserted that such claims were merely a ploy to manipulate the media, accusing Christine of pandering to public opinion.
'This is Christine pandering to the press'
He further criticized the media outlets and social media platforms for amplifying these claims, which have had a direct impact on the teenage children who read these reports. The 18-year marriage between Kevin and Christine has hit a contentious point with their divorce proceedings. "This was the sound bite from her prior papers filed with the court that all of the media outlets and social media platforms picked up and ran with in many published articles," Costner added. "I have never, ever said our children have to move out of their home – and they do not. They will be living with both of us, moving between our respective residences." The actor wrote in a June 30 declaration, “This is Christine pandering to the press," as per the outlet.
Christine has demanded monthly child support of $248,000
Christine has demanded a monthly child support payment of $248,000 while Kevin believes a more reasonable figure would be around $38,000. However, the actor appears unwilling to wait for a court hearing to settle the matter, leading to his recent declaration seeking Christine's eviction from their shared home. Christine, on the other hand, has expressed willingness to move out of the property on the condition that Kevin agrees to pay an amount determined by the court for child support, a decision that is expected later this month.
Christine argued that the prescribed $38,000 monthly child support would be insufficient
Kevin Costner's frustration reportedly stems from Christine's refusal to adhere to their premarital agreement despite his deposit of $1 million into her bank account to facilitate finding suitable housing nearby for her and the children. While Christine argued that the prescribed $38,000 monthly child support would be insufficient for their accustomed lifestyle in the affluent beachfront town of Carpinteria, she did propose a cohabitation arrangement during the court proceedings within the massive compound. The actor's attorney, Laura Wasser, filed a motion demanding Christine's departure from the property by no later than July 13. Wasser's fierce stance mirrors Kevin Costner's sentiment, leaving no room for ambiguity in their pursuit of resolution.
