Joe Burrow injury update: Bengals QB carted off the field

We currently have no information about the nature or severity of the Joe Burrow injury. Given that it was a non-contact play and that the cart was needed for him to come off of the field, though, it's hard for any NFL fan to not expect the worse.

Burrow suffered a torn ACL after being the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft for the Bengals, playing in just 10 games in his inaugural pro season coming out of LSU. He has played in 16 games for each of the past two seasons.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor updated the media after practice, confirming what he called "a calf injury" for Joe Burrow. He did not have further information available beyond that.

Should Burrow miss time with this injury suffered in training camp, the current backup quarterback options on the roster are Trevor Siemian and Jake Browning. Cincinnati would likely explore other options depending on the severity of the injury.

As more information is provided on Burrow, we will keep you update on the developing situation.
