CLEVELAND, OHIO: Jake Shields, a former UFC fighter, doesn't think Logan Paul vs Dillon Danis will ever happen as he believes the boxers aren't interested in engaging in combat. The co-main event of the next Misfits Boxing Prime Card, which takes place on October 14 in Manchester, UK, will include a boxing match between Danis and Paul.
In addition to their fight, KSI will enter the ring to take on Tommy Fury. Danis and Paul's fight has been, to put it mildly, personal as 'El Jefe' has repeatedly trolled Logan Paul and his fiancée Nina Agdal on social media. The Bellator fighter frequently shares photos of Agdal with ex-boyfriends and altered images of the Danish model.
Jake Shields believes Logan Paul and Dillon Danis 'aren't into fighting'
Jake Shields discussed the fight and its acrimonious lead-up with Helen Yee, a sportswriter, journalist and host. The former UFC welterweight championship challenger claims that Paul and Danis are more concerned with marketing their battle than with the actual contest.
Shields also lavished praise on Dillon Danis, whose social media following has recently increased dramatically. He declared, "I think both of those guys aren't really into fighting, they're more into marketing. And Dillon's done a great job marketing himself."
He went on to say, "I don't think he really wants to fight. He's gotten a huge win out of this press-wise and he's got like 500,000 new followers. For him, he's already got what he wants out of this other than the payday."
"I could see one of these guys pulling the fight... Dillon's definitely had the PR win, he's done some little brutal but that's some hilarious [social media posts]," Shield concluded.
Dillon Danis pledged to 'break' Logan Paul's jaw
After their most recent exchange on social media, Dillon Danis pledged to "break" Logan Paul's jaw. Instead of Paul's girlfriend, whom he had spent the most of their fight's build-up directly targeting, Danis chose to take a rare aim at 'The Maverick' himself.
El Jefe even made a passing reference to Paul's "CryptoZoo" plan, for which the former Disney Channel star may be charged with crimes. Dillon Danis wrote the following in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), "I’m gonna break Logan’s jaw into pieces..."
He continued, "He’s a scamming coward the audacity he’s the one to sue sending lawsuit after lawsuit to me after all he’s done to people dead and alive he’s a backwards c**t, mark my words I’m gonna dance on this kids head."
He further added, "This isn't about money. Logan bullies others and resorts to NDAs and lawsuits when things don't go his way, like a cowardly rat. The only way I'm paying any money is if they go towards a suicide charity, the CryptoZoo victims, and HIV medication bills for Nina's exes."
