NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ beloved hosts Hoda Kotb and Craig Melvin recently issued a stern warning to ‘American Idol’ former host Ryan Seacrest following his time as ‘Wheel of Fortune’s’ new host.
On Wednesday, September 20 ‘Today’ broadcast, host Willie Geist shared glimpses of his upcoming interview with Seacrest as he discussed it with co-hosts Melvin, Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, and Carson Daly.
It was confirmed back in June on the official Instagram page of 'Wheel of Fortune' that Seacrest will replace the longtime gameshow host Pat Sajak after the 76-year-old announced his retirement.
The official interview of Geist and Seacrest is set to air on Sunday, September 23.
‘Today’ hosts Hoda Kotb and Craig Melvin’s warning to Ryan Seacrest
During a recent ‘Today’ show, host Willie Geist shared clips of his upcoming interview with Ryan Seacrest.
In one of the clips, Seacrest shared his excitement that ‘Wheel of Fortune’s' longtime letter-turner Vanna White will be returning to the game show with a new contract extension.
It was reportedly confirmed by Seacrest that her contract has been extended by two years and she will continue hosting the show after host Pat Sajak exits the game show in 2024.
In the video, Seacrest teased at the end adding, “Vanna, please tell me what to do.”
While Geist shared this with his co-hosts Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie, and Carson Daly, the ‘Today’ hosts had some comments to share with the new ‘Wheel of Fortune’ hire ahead of his hosting gig.
Kotb pointed, “It’s kind of Vanna’s show that Ryan’s on,” as Melvin agreed with her adding, “She is Wheel of Fortune.”
Geist chimed in, “He’s the first to say that.”
Melvin warned, "Don't touch the show," while Geist confirmed that Seacrest didn't intend to make "sweeping changes."
Ryan Seacrest's family love
The new ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host Ryan Seacrest maintains a close bond with his family, particularly his parents, Gary, and Constance Seacrest.
Earlier this year, the TV personality shared a collection of photos featuring his parents on various getaways, posting them on Instagram.
One image showed Gary and Constance embracing, with Gary wearing a white button-down shirt and khaki linen pants, while Constance donned a vibrant blue dress with dynamic patterns.
Another photo depicted the enduring couple seated together on the beach, sharing smiles and holding hands.
The carousel of images also included shots of Seacrest’s parents enjoying each other's company with drinks in hand, set against a picturesque backdrop.
In the caption accompanying his post, Seacrest shared the "secret" behind his parents' enduring and loving long-term relationship.
He captioned, “When asked what the secret to 53 years of marriage is, my parents said the key is communication & actually celebrating the years. Congratulations, Mom and Dad. Happy anniversary!"
