Is Madison Beer still struggling with addiction issues? Here's how pop star copes with day-to-day stress

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Madison Beer, the chart-topping artist known for her hit albums 'Life Support' and 'Silence Between Songs', has enjoyed a life of luxury. She has a net worth of $16 million and recently purchased a lavish $5.6 million mansion.

Yet, beneath the glitz and glamour, the young singer has silently grappled with mental health and addiction issues.

Madison Beer shared her struggles with substance abuse in her memoir 'The Half of It', which hit bookshelves on April 25. The singer-songwriter from Long Island, New York made the announcement in early February, marking a new beginning for her and a beacon of hope for others waging similar battles.

Madison Beer's addiction issues

After struggling with Xanax dependency, self-harm, and recurring suicidal thoughts, Beer decided to seek therapy, as reported by E! News. However, her journey to recovery was hindered by the excessive consumption of pills during therapy.

The singer's path to addiction was marked by traumatic incidents in her early life. She became a victim of assault at the age of 14.

Then, when she was 15, an intimate picture of Beer was callously circulated online. Earlier, she had come face to face with cruel cyberbullying at the tender age of 12.

Besides, she encountered ridicule when she attempted to explore romance during her pre-teen years.

These events, coupled with the devastating discovery at 16 that her record label and manager had severed ties with her, fueled her descent into addiction.

Fast forward to 2023, during an enlightening conversation on Alexandra Cooper's 'Call Her Daddy' podcast, Madison Beer shed light on the deeply violating experience of discovering her personal images being shared online.

She had entrusted the videos to someone who blatantly breached her trust by making them public. The invasion of privacy left her deeply shaken.

She explained, "It's remained, so vividly to the point where I still, to this day, if I get a call in the middle of the night, I'm 15 again. And I'm in my room and I'm finding out that this video is out there and it's really scary."

Is Madison Beer OK now?

In recent interviews, Madison Beer has shared her journey toward a brighter and healthier state of mind. According to reports, Beer revealed that she has been grappling with conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder and borderline personality disorder.

Her newfound awareness of these challenges has empowered her to better navigate her emotional landscape.

In a heartwarming Instagram post from August 2020, Madison Beer celebrated a significant milestone in her personal growth by declaring herself "one year free from self-harm."

In a message to her followers, she expressed her unexpected pride in this achievement, as reported by People. Madison acknowledged the uphill battle it had been and offered her support to those on similar journeys, whether they were one day, one week, one month, or one year clean.

She wrote, "I never thought I'd be able to say this & i am so proud of myself. it has been an uphill battle, so whether you might be one day, one week, one month, or one year clean — I'm so proud of you."
