'I have loved it': Tucker Carlson claims his 'world hasn’t changed' after Fox News fired him

HUNGARY, BUDAPEST: Former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson traveled to Hungary, Budapest where he recently sat down with the Hungarian political leader, Balazs Orban, as a part of ‘Tucker on X.’

After being hailed for his speech in Hungary, Tucker has now opened up about his shock firing from Fox News, which took place earlier in 2023. While Tucker did not dive into too many details about being fired, he focussed more on the aftermath of it, and how it helped his life.

In addition, it also appears that Tucker has not harbored any hate for Fox News, as he continues to make strides in his career.

Tucker Carlson 'glad' Justin Wells was fired after him from Fox News

After Balazs Orban introduced the “wonderful” Tucker Carlson to the audience, he spoke about how he became popular in Hungary after being Tucker’s “last foreign guest” on Fox News.

Orban and Tucker joked about how Fox News fired Tucker right after that. Tucker said, “The Hungarian was just one guest too far.”

Orban explained that people in Hungary thought Tucker was fired from Fox News because of him. To that, Tucker responded, “Trust me, I have no idea why I got fired, it may have been you, I would not be totally surprised.”

Orban corrected himself and said the last foreign guest on Fox News with Tucker was actually Canadian, but Tucker said, “That doesn’t count.” Orban then asked Tucker, what it was like to be a “free man.”

“I have loved it,” said Tucker before he continued, “I mean thankfully the people I worked with on my show were also fired with me.”

Tucker revealed that Justin Wells, his executive producer was fired two minutes after and Tucker called him to say, “I’m so glad you were fired.”

Tucker Carlson admits that Fox News was always 'nice' to him

Talking about his life after the shock firing, Tucker said, “My world hasn’t changed that much.” Tucker mentioned his wife, dogs, family, and work, which all stayed the same.

He also mentioned Fox News, “For whatever it’s worth, no one really cares but Fox was really nice to me for the 14 years I worked there.”

Claiming that Fox News never stopped him for anything, Tucker said, "They never said you can’t say this, you can’t say that. They let me say whatever I wanted, and I knew on some level, someday I would probably go too far, like have a Hungarian on, and they’ll fire me, and they did."

“I can’t complain about Fox,” said Tucker before adding that he has been fired three times as an adult, “It’s great to get fired because it keeps you from being a truly horrible person.”
