How long will Tory Lanez spend in prison? Megan Thee Stallion has not had 'single day of peace' since rapper shot her

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Megan Thee Stallion stated in a written statement read aloud during rapper Tory Lanez's sentencing, which is expected to take place on Tuesday, August 8, that she had been suffering every day since he shot her in the feet three years ago.

Megan's statement read, "Since I was viciously shot by the defendant, I have not experienced a single day of peace, Slowly but surely, I'm healing and coming back, but I will never be the same."

Megan Thee Stallion 'simply could not bring myself to be in a room with Tory again'

Megan, who had testified during the trial, said she had second thoughts about appearing in person, but she "simply could not bring myself to be in a room with Tory again." She requested Judge David Herriford to impose a severe sentence and asked that her absence not be interpreted as indifference, per NBC.

The judge was scheduled to sentence Lanez on Monday, August 7, during a hearing that typically lasts only a couple of hours, but Judge Herriford had attorneys for both sides argue each factor of his potential sentence, and allowed seven witnesses to give statements on Lanez's philanthropic endeavors, childhood trauma and status as a six-year-old boy's father.

How many years will Tory Lanez be sentenced to?

Prosecutors have sought that Lanez receives 13 years in prison. The rapper was found guilty of three felonies: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Lanez's attorneys argued in a sentencing memo that he should receive only probation and be let out of jail to enroll in a residential drug rehabilitation program. They intend to challenge his sentence.

Megan testified at the trial that Lanez fired at the back of her feet and yelled at her to dance as she walked away from an SUV after leaving Kylie Jenner's Hollywood Hills house party at that time.

Lanez's father, Sonstar Peterson, who is a Christian minister, held back tears as he told the judge about how his wife, Luella, died when the rapper was 11, a few days after she showed symptoms of a rare blood disorder.
