LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift’s new romance with Matty Healy has not just unnerved her father Scott but also her close friend Gigi Hadid, who is concerned about his scandal-riddled past. The 28-year-old supermodel and Swift’s other pals are keeping close tabs on The 1975 frontman as they hang out together at various shows on Taylor’s ongoing Eras tour.
“They’re concerned he could be bad news because he’s got a dark past,” an insider said while reflecting on the British rockstar’s past struggles with heroin and prescription pills. The source further claimed that the ‘Midnight Rain’ singer’s father Scott is also troubled by his daughter’s new man. “Scott is wary of any man Taylor dates and questions if Matty has an agenda or is using her for fame. He’s definitely keeping a close eye on Matty — mainly because of his wild past,” the tipster continued. However, despite her inner circle's warnings, Swift has opted to stick by Healy and feels he is "the one for her."
'Their chemistry is off the charts'
“Taylor insists Matty has changed,” sources told Radar Online, adding, “Matty’s grown up a lot, and they seem to be a good match.” As per reports, the ‘Lavender’ singer had a brief romance with Healy about a decade ago, which was cut short due to his troubles, but they reunited just around the time her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn ended. Recently, Swift was even seen driving Matty back to her Nashville condo after the May 6 show. “Taylor was down for having fun and their chemistry is off the charts,” the insider noted.
'Taylor’s really into Matty'
“He definitely has an edge, but that’s what attracted her to him,” the tipster said, adding that there has always been a spark between the two musicians. “They first hooked up in 2014, but neither of them was ready to commit and Matty went off the rails battling heroin addiction,” the insider stated. It was also revealed that the romance is more than just a fling. “Everyone says they’re moving fast, but they’ve known each other for years, so it’s not surprising that they’ve gotten hot and heavy so quickly. Taylor’s really into Matty and vice versa. It’s a real thing,” the insider continued.
These claims came just a few days after Swift and Healy were spotted showing off some major PDA on a date. The new love birds were reportedly seen getting cozy at Casa Cipriani in New York City, where they were joined by Jack Antonoff and his girlfriend, the actress Margaret Qualley. According to an eyewitness, they "sat next to each other at a banquette in the lounge.” The eyewitness also revealed that while they were "cuddling and kissing," neither of them had placed a meal order. After being noticed by an eyewitness, they hastily exited Cipriani "holding hands" under an umbrella to maintain their privacy. as per a report by Page Six.
