Cristiano Ronaldo has finally met iShowSpeed
Cristiano Ronaldo has finally met iShowSpeed
It's been a long time coming but Cristiano Ronaldo has finally met streamer iShowSpeed. Or should that be the other way around... For those that haven't been following this long-running saga, iShowSpeed is one of the top steamers in the world with more than 16 million followers on YouTube alone and is obsessed with Ronaldo. The American online personality has attempted to meet the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus striker on numerous occasions in the past but ultimately failed on every occasion. However, the stars aligned for the 18-year-old on Saturday when he flew to Portugal to see the iconic footballer in action for his country in the nation's 3-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon. As part of his stream at the match, Speed was told that he could potentially meet Ronaldo if he went down to the car park as the players were leaving the stadium. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Sure enough, after waiting for a few minutes Ronaldo eventually arrived and Speed fell to his knees in awe of his idol. The two hugged and got pictures as Speed was clearly overcome with emotion and even imitated Ronaldo's 'Siuu' celebration. The interaction only lasted a few seconds and after Ronaldo left, Speed was overcome with tears and could be heard saying "I love you so much God." And that was it. Hopefully, for Speed he can continue to impress Ronaldo when he takes part in the next Sidemen charity match which is set to take place on September 9th at West Ham's London Stadium. Strange structures pointing towards black hole discovered in space
Strange structures pointing towards black hole discovered in space
There’s been another unexpected discovery in our galaxy, after scientists observed strange structures pointing towards a black hole. These “dashes” were spotted in the Milky Way and all aim towards the black hole at its centre. The sheer number of these structures is unprecedented, too, with hundreds of them measuring five to 10 light-years long discovered as part of the new research. The true nature of the dashes remains a mystery, and there’s currently no explanation as to how they got there in the first place. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter “It was a surprise to suddenly find a new population of structures that seem to be pointing in the direction of the black hole,” Northwestern University’s Farhad Yusef-Zadeh, who led the research. “I was actually stunned when I saw these. We had to do a lot of work to establish that we weren’t fooling ourselves. And we found that these filaments are not random but appear to be tied to the outflow of our black hole. “By studying them, we could learn more about the black hole’s spin and accretion disk orientation. It is satisfying when one finds order in a middle of a chaotic field of the nucleus of our galaxy.” The research, published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, also reflects on findings from Professor Yusef-Zadeh in the early 80s, who discovered one-dimensional filaments near the black hole in the middle of the Milky Way, named Sagittarius A*. The new structures are spread out in a different direction, and change the way scientists have been thinking about filaments like this completely. “We have always been thinking about vertical filaments and their origin,” he said. “I’m used to them being vertical. I never considered there might be others along the plane.” Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.

Trump and one co-defendant plead not guilty in superseding Mar-a-Lago indictment
Donald Trump and his aide Walt Nauta pleaded not guilty in federal court on several charges claiming that the former president kept classified documents at his private Florida club Mar-a-Lago and attempted to hide some of them from government authorities with the help of his staffers. Mr Trump, who waived his right to appear at the Thursday arraignment in Fort Pierce, Florida, entered his plea via his lawyers. The ex-president was initially charged with 37 crimes in a June indictment, to which he pleaded not guilty. The following month, prosecutors added another three charges in a superseding indictment. Mr Trump pleaded not guilty to those charges on Thursday. Mr Nauta attended the hearing on Thursday, where he also pleaded not guilty after being charged with six charges in the initial indictment and another two counts in the superseding filing.
