David Adeleye caused outrage after punching the referee in a furious reaction to being stopped in his British title fight on the Tyson Fury v Francis Ngannou undercard. Adeleye, who fell to 12-1 as a professional, was stopped by Fabio Wardley in the seventh round shortly after being dropped on ‘The Battle of the Baddest’ in Ridyah, Saudi Arabia. A barrage of shots pushed Adeleye back and referee John Latham stepped in, waving his hands above his head to signal the end of the contest. That sparked an angry outburst, with Adeleye shoving the official back and stepping forward before screaming into his face.
