ITV descends into chaos as ‘psychic parrot’ predicts winner of World Cup final
Larry the “psychic parrot” predicted the winner of the Women’s World Cup final during a chaotic segment on Friday’s episode of Lorraine. The ITV show boasted that the bird has correctly called several of England’s wins in the tournament so far, but things didn’t quite go to plan when they returned to Longleat Safari Park for his biggest prediction yet. “Larry has got stage fright,” Ranvir Singh said, as the parrot failed to show much interest in picking the World Cup final winner. Singh then joked that co-host Jake Quickenden was “literally feeding” Larry, who eventually predicted England will win.

Who are Kylie and Kendall Jenner dressed as? Sugar and Spice explained
Kylie and Kendall Jenner have left some of their fans baffled after joining up to dress as an obscure double act for Halloween. With the spooky holiday upon us, celebrities everywhere have gone all out on their costumes, dressing up as everyone from Britney Spears to Morticia Addams. Many made reference to pop culture icons such as Tina Turner and Marilyn Monroe with the costumes, but sisters Kylie and Kendall caused confusion after dressing as Sugar and Spice from Batman Forever. In a TikTok video, the pair wore their black and white costumes and reenacted a Halloween-themed scene from the film Mean Girls. Kylie wore a black leotard with a red and black wig, while sister Kendall wore a white leotard and white cape with a curled blonde wig. However, it seems some fans were not clued up on who the Jenner sisters were supposed to be dressed up as, as one person commented on social media, saying: “Who are they though?” @kyliejenner sugar & spice Who are Sugar and Spice from Batman Forever? In the 1995 film, Batman Forever, Sugar and Spice were two female characters portrayed by the actresses Drew Barrymore and Debi Mazar. They were characters created to be lovers and molls for Two-Face (aka Harvey Dent), played by Tommy Lee Jones, and able to appeal to both his good and bad side. Sugar and Spice also made an appearance in season 4 of Harley Quinn this year, making it the first time the character pair have been featured in a DC project in 12 years. Despite not knowing the reference to the characters they were dressed as fans of the Jenners nonetheless heaped praise on the pair. On TikTok, one fan commented: “I don’t know what this is but it ATE”. Another person wrote: “I [definitely] thought they were trying to be the drag twins Sugar and Spice lol.” Someone else commented: “For the ones asking Sugar and Spice costumes are inspired by the Batman Forever movie!” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter How to join the indy100's free WhatsApp channel Have your say in our news democracy. Billionaire Louis Vuitton owner Bernard Arnault and Russian oligarch investigated in money-laundering probe
French prosecutors have launched an investigation into a billionaire who is the world’s second-richest person over his links to a Russian oligarch. Bernard Arnault, co-founder and chief executive of luxury-goods group Louis Vuitton (LVMH), is being investigated amid allegations of money-laundering. The Paris public prosecutor’s office says it is investigating financial transactions involving the French billionaire and businessman Nikolai Sarkisov. Mr Arnault’s spokesperson declined to comment. The inquiry is centred on property purchase in Courchevel, a ski resort in the French Alps known for being a playground for the ultra-rich, the prosecutors said. Mr Sarkisov acquired property there via a transaction in which Mr Arnault, through one of his companies, had provided a loan, according to French daily paper Le Monde, citing the Tracfin financial-intelligence unit. It said the 55-year old Russian billionaire had acquired 14 housing units from a single seller in 2018 for €16m (£13.9m) in a complex deal involving companies based in France, Luxembourg and Cyprus. Tracfin, part of the French justice system focused on combating money-laundering, has yet to determine whether any crime had been committed, a source close to the investigation said. Mr Arnault’s LVMH group owns handbag brand Louis Vuitton, Moët champagne, Hennessy cognac, the jeweller Tiffany’s and the watchmaker Tag Heuer, among many others. His fortune is thought to be worth $164bn (£134bn), according to financial experts at Bloomberg. Mr Sarkisov’s RESO-Garantia insurance company in Moscow could not be immediately reached for comment. Le Monde cited a person close to Mr Arnault as saying the transaction had been carried out in full respect of French law. In 2019, the French tycoon, who is the richest person in Europe and second-richest after Elon Musk, pledged 200 million euros (£173m) for the restoration of Notre Dame after it was devastated by fire.
