Mar-a-Lago IT worker got target letter from DOJ, report says
Mar-a-Lago IT worker got target letter from DOJ, report says
The Mar-a-Lago IT supervisor identified as “Trump Employee 4” in the latest indictment against former presidentDonald Trump and his alleged co-conspirators was reportedly informed that he’s a target of the ongoing Justice Department probe into alleged mishandling of classified records by the ex-president. According to CNN, the employee in question is named Yuscil Taveras. The outlet said Mr Taveras, who is charged with any crime at this point, subsequently met with Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team of prosecutors and gave evidence that was used to obtain the superseding indictment against Mr Trump, co-defendant Walt Nauta and a newly-added third co-defendant: Mar-a-Lago maintenance supervisor Carlos De Oliveira. According to the superseding indictment, Mr De Oliveira informed Mr Taveras during a conversation at the Palm Beach social club that “’the boss wanted” the contents of a server containing CCTV surveillance records “deleted” in the days following receipt of a grand jury subpoena for video that showed the corridor outside a room where boxes of documents from the Trump White House were being stored. Prosecutors allege that Mr Taveras responded by telling Mr De Oliveira that he did not think he “would have the rights” to delete the footage in question, leading his co-worker to ask: “What are we going to do?” Mr De Oliveira is charged with conspiring with Mr Trump and Mr Nauta to obstruct the DOJ probe into Mr Trump’s alleged unlawful retention of national defence information as well as with lying to investigators about his involvement in moving boxes containing records from the Trump administration when Mr Trump moved from the White House back to his Palm Beach, Florida property. A Trump campaign statement called the charges “nothing more than a continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their Department of Justice to harass President Trump and those around him” and accused Mr Smith, a veteran prosecutor overseeing multiple probes into Mr Trump of “casting about for any way to salvage their illegal witch hunt and to get someone other than Donald Trump to run against Crooked Joe Biden”. Pep Guardiola ‘hopeful’ Erling Haaland will return from injury to face Liverpool
Pep Guardiola ‘hopeful’ Erling Haaland will return from injury to face Liverpool
Pep Guardiola is hopeful Erling Haaland will return for Manchester City against Liverpool after withdrawing from the Norway squad during the international break. The striker missed Norway’s final Euro 2024 qualifier against Scotland on Sunday after picking up a knock to his ankle in Thursday’s 2-0 friendly win over the Faroe Islands. Although Norway insisted the injury was “not serious”, Haaland withdrew from the squad and returned to Manchester City for treatment ahead of this weekend’s top-of-the-table clash. Premier League leaders City host rivals Liverpool in Saturday’s early kick-off, as Jurgen Klopp’s resurgent side look to spark another title race between the clubs this season. Haaland’s two goals in the 4-4 draw at Chelsea before the international break took his Premier League tally to 13 goals in 12 games this season, and the striker will be key to City’s hopes with Kevin De Bruyne sidelined until after Christmas. “He’s trained with niggles yesterday, hopefully he can train today and we will see,” Guardiola said. “We have a few problems, The same as many clubs. We will see in the training session and we will see tomorrow. At 6pm I will know for sure which players I will have tomorrow. Always it’s plan A.” Saturday’s clash between Manchester City and Liverpool is the latest installment of the growing rivalry between the sides and could be the start of their latest title battle after Klopp’s changes over the summer. “I think we are all friends,” Guardiola added. "We know each other quite well. Of course, the time goes forward Jurgen has been eight years at Liverpool and of course it’s not the same players since the start. He has rebuilt the team. "Trent Alexander-Arnold can play inside and outside. But the idea is quite similar and always been our best rivals some seasons done well with injuries they have. Top club and team. Looking forward to it." New York Jets fan loses teeth in rage at Zach Wilson's poor showing
New York Jets fan loses teeth in rage at Zach Wilson's poor showing
New York Jets fans are getting so angry with their team that they are spitting straight fury. Or, in this case, spitting teeth. As the American football side fell to a 15-10 loss against the New England Patriots on Sunday, one supporter got so irate that he ended up losing his teeth. And this was a while before the Jets succumbed to defeat – the teeth flew out when the man screamed with rage as they went just 3-0 down in the second quarter of the match. Thankfully, it was only the Jets that lost – the fan managed to regain composure, catch his teeth and pop them straight back in. The footage was seized upon by both Jim Nantz and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who got a laugh out of the live clip during a brief intermission of play. "You can see it on their face, the frustration. You know you are frustrated when your teeth come out," Romo said while Nantz chuckled away. Jets QB Zach Wilson completed 18 of his 36 passes without managing to get a touchdown, gaining just 157 yards as the Jets' struggles continued. They will face the Kansas City Chiefs next week – and things aren't looking like they'll get better any time soon. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy.
