iShowSpeed impersonator gets millions of views by showing old streams
iShowSpeed has been in the news an awful lot recently and he’s one of the most popular streamers on the internet. So popular, in fact, that an impersonator is racking up millions of views by showing his old streams. An IShowSpeed fan account has been posting screenshots from the account, which is restreaming old content. The old streams were being picked up by plenty of fans, too. One grab showed that more than 18,000 concurrent viewers were tuning into old footage of the streamer playing Roblox. Other restreams have also been flagged by fan pages recirculating old footage. IShowSpeed hasn’t responded to the old streams yet, though – and at the moment, he’s probably got other things on his mind. The 18-year-old ended a recent stream suddenly after accidentally exposing himself to fans live on air last week. The hugely popular figure was broadcasting to 24,000 people when he accidentally flashed the camera, looking shocked after realising what he’d done instantly. The streamer, real name Darren Watkins stood up, showing his crotch, not realising that his penis was exposed The streamer has since returned to the platform and addressed the "embarrassing moment," and how it's impacted him mentally. "These past days and hours, I've been suffering very mentally, genuinely," he told viewers. "At the end of the day, I'm still a human being." He said it was "one of the worst fears" that has happened and that it's "just depressing." "You guys are joking, you guys can crack your jokes – but you're genuinely not looking a the bigger picture," he said. "Do you all know I have family, little siblings?" "I don't know what to do anymore, bro," Speed continued. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. England fans heartbroken as Keira Walsh suffers knee injury against Denmark
England fans heartbroken as Keira Walsh suffers knee injury against Denmark
England Lionesses fans were left shocked after Keira Walsh appeared to suffer a serious knee injury during the Women’s World Cup game against Denmark. The Barcelona midfielder was in tears as she was stretchered off during the first half of the match in Sydney. Walsh was seen in television pictures mouthing: “I’ve done my knee.” The 26-year-old had played some neat passes in the opening part of the group stage match, but was replaced in the 38th minute by Laura Coombs. Walsh was comforted by team mate Rachel Daly. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter While it is too early to know exactly what the problem is, the incident has echoes of the anterior cruciate ligament injury which has dogged women’s football lately. Some of the biggest names in the game including England captain Leah Williamson are absent because of a wave of ACL injuries in recent years. It is a common sight in the women’s game when clubs and countries are forced to announce that their biggest stars will be out for months on end. Other stars to miss the tournament are England’s Beth Mead and the Netherlands striker Vivianne Miedema, who both suffered the injury in November. Canada's Janine Beckie and the USA’s Catarina Macario are in the same boat. England fans were heartbroken to see one of their key players suffer what could be a serious injury. One person said: “Some players can’t be replaced and Keira Walsh is one of them.” Another person added: “We cannot lose Keira Walsh…. Praying for your knee.” One other commenter added: “Keira Walsh saying "get off" and "it's my knee" is something nobody wants to hear.” England’s game against Denmark is their second of the group stage after beating Haiti 1-0 last week in an unconvincing performance. The Lionesses went into the tournament with high hopes after winning the Euros last year. However, the wave of injuries, of which Walsh is the latest, could prove detrimental to their chances. Ukraine-Russia war live: Kherson ‘symbol of heroism and hope’, says Zelensky on liberation anniversary
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has described Kherson as a “symbol of heroism and hope” on the day the city marks one year since Ukraine retook it from occupying Russian forces. The Ukrainian President posted on X on Saturday: “Kherson is a symbol of heroism and hope. It is a city of our people who have not bowed down to the enemy and inspired all of us and the entire world with their resistance.” The flight of Russian troops from Kherson under prolonged Ukrainian assault a year ago was one of Ukraine’s biggest successes in the war. It comes after big explosions were heard in Kyiv as the Ukrainian capital came under air attack on Saturday, in the first major attack on the city since late September. “Strong explosions were heard on in the left bank of the capital,” Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram. “Preliminary, air defence was working against ballistic (missiles).” Russian troops are intensifying their attacks on the key eastern town of Avdiivka, a senior Ukraine officer has said, while the country’s general staff reported its military repelled many Russian assaults in widely separated sectors of the frontline. New AI can screen for diabetes in seconds by listening to your voice
New AI can screen for diabetes in seconds by listening to your voice
Scientists have discovered a way to test whether someone is diabetic by having them speak just a few sentences into their smartphone. A team from US-based Klick Labs created an AI model capable of distinguishing whether a person has Type 2 diabetes from six to 10 seconds of voice audio, with tests revealing an 89 per cent accuracy rate for women and 86 per cent for men. “Our research highlights significant vocal variations between individuals with and without Type 2 diabetes and could transform how the medical community screens for diabetes,” said Jaycee Kaufman, a research scientist at Klick Labs. “Current methods of detection can require a lot of time, travel and cost. Voice technology has the potential to remove these barriers entirely.” The study involved analysing 18,000 recordings in order to identify acoustic features that differentiated non diabetics from diabetics. Using signal processing, they were able to detect subtle changes in pitch and intensity that are imperceptible to the human ear. The tool could prove useful for the estimated 240 million adults around the world who are currently living with the condition without realising, according to figures from the International Diabetes Federation. The latest research demonstrates the ever-growing role AI plays in healthcare, with the convergence of machine learning models, data science helping to improve patient treatment and assisting medical discoveries. The researchers claim the artificial intelligence model, which requires basic health data from the subject in order to determine whether they are diabetic, could be expanded to diagnose other health conditions. “Our research underscores the tremendous potential of voice technology in identifying Type 2 diabetes and other health conditions,” said Yan Fossat, vice president of Klick Labs and leader of the research. “Voice technology could revolutionise healthcare practices as an accessible and affordable digital screening tool.” The technology was detailed in a study, titled ‘Acoustic analysis and prediction of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus using smartphone-recorded voice segments’, published in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings: Digital Health. Charlie Savage impresses Rob Page during his Wales debut
Charlie Savage impresses Rob Page during his Wales debut
Rob Page has revealed Charlie Savage will be staying with the Wales squad for the Euro 2024 qualifier with Croatia on Sunday. Savage, the 20-year-old son of former Wales midfielder Robbie, made his full senior debut on Wednesday as the Dragons cruised to a 4-0 friendly win over Gibraltar in Wrexham. The Reading midfielder was due to join up with the under-21 side ahead of their European Championship qualifier away to the Czech Republic on Friday. But Savage and Wycombe central defender Joe Low – who also made his senior debut against Gibraltar – will remain with Page’s squad ahead of the vital Croatia clash in Cardiff. “We’ll keep Savage and Joe, not just off the back of tonight,” said Wales manager Page. “They’ve done themselves the world of good. “Sav has earned the right to be with us and I’ve got a lot of time for Joe. “He’s earned the right to be there with injuries we’ve got.” Savage claimed an assist for a Kieffer Moore header as Wales brushed aside Gibraltar with all four goals coming in the first half. Bournemouth striker Moore scored twice to take his Wales goals tally to 12, the same number as Ryan Giggs and one fewer than John Toshack. Ben Davies, who wore the armband in the absence of injured captain Aaron Ramsey, and Nathan Broadhead were also on target. “He has taken my advice and left,” Page said of Savage’s move from Manchester United to Sky Bet League One outfit Reading in the summer. “It must have been hard for him. I spoke to Rob who had to leave United to go to Crewe. It’s no different for Charlie. “He did it because he’s playing week in week out in competitive football. He trains as he plays and has personality. We blocked Robbie from speaking to him all week which was a big achievement. “Joking aside, Rob has got his back, he’ll look after him. He’s got his feet on the ground. “Sav’s best position is an old-fashioned box to box eight. The ball for Kieffer was first class, right on his head. He showed he can do both sides of it and he’s a great talent.” Wales’ comfortable win saw them secure back-to-back victories for the first time since November 2021. “The results were not great in June, but it’s how you bounce back and we did that in September with class (winning 2-0 in Latvia),” Page said. “The environment is brilliant. We won’t get carried away beating Gibraltar, but I see work in progress. “My challenge to them was to be clinical and we were. We have to put it all together on Sunday. “We picked a team here knowing what we’ll face on Sunday. “From the first minute on camp we knew the team we’d pick here and we know the team on Sunday. We are ready and can’t wait for Sunday’s game.” Wes Burns has returned to Ipswich and will be assessed by his club after the wing-back suffered an arm injury that forced him off in the early stages against Gibraltar.
