A quiet community just outside of Chicago was turned upside down when a couple, their two young sons and three dogs were found shot dead inside their home. Police were called in for a welfare check at the home in Romeoville, Illinois, on Sunday morning. Officers arrived to find the bodies of Alberto Rolon, 38, Zoraida Bartolomei, 32, their two boys, aged 7 and 10, and their dogs. Investigators determined that the victims died by homicide - with the killer still at large days later. “I want to know what happened to my nephews, my sister, her husband and WHY?” Bartolomei’s sister Bryana wrote in a heartbreaking Facebook post. Here is everything we know about the Rolon-Bartolomei family case: ‘Not a murder suicide’ Romeoville police were dispatched on Sunday (17 September) to check on the Rolon-Bartolomei family after relatives shared concern that one of the parents didn’t turn up for work that day. In a press conference on Monday, police said family members called several times throughout the day to check on the adult, but there was no response. Just before 9pm Sunday, officers carried out a welfare check at the family’s home on the residential 500 block of Concord Avenue. The family of four were found dead of gunshot wounds – along with their three dogs. Authorities believe the murders took place between 9pm Saturday and 5am Sunday. “We do not believe the offender is among the victims. It is not a murder-suicide,” Deputy Chief Burne said during the press conference. The killer is not yet known, but police have said they do not feel the need to lock down the area. Deputy Chief Burne added: “Due to the timeframe that has gone by – more than 18 hours from the time we were contacted – we are not asking anybody to shelter in place, we are not actively looking for anybody in the area.” However, authorities have advised residents to “have a good sense of self-awareness” and have asked them to report anything they might see as suspicious. Zoraida Bartolomei, Alberto Rolon, their kids Adriel & Diego (ages 10 & 7) were involved in a horrific crime that took their lives and shattered countless others.” Bryana said her sister and brother-in-law had just brought their first home together and described the children as “the sweetest most innocent angels who could hug your worries away.” “The world is going to be a much dimmer place without them,” she added. She also pleaded for anyone with information on the killings to contact police. The post was met with comments from the community sharing their condolences. “We know her and your parents from church, we are so saddened by this horrible news. Prayers for you all,” one user said. A Spanish TV journalist was allegedly groped live on air by a member of the public in an incident which has sparked public outrage and condemnation from the Spanish government. Isa Balado was reporting on a robbery in Madrid when a man approached her from behind and appeared to touch her bottom in an incident that was being broadcast live. The man, who was later arrested by the police, can be seen denying touching the reporter inappropriately when confronted immediately afterwards. The video by broadcaster Cuatro, where Balado works, showed a man wearing white shorts and sunglasses approaching her and appearing to touch her before asking a question. He continued to stand to the side as Balado attempted to resume her report, before she was then interrupted by programme host Nacho Abad, who asked her what happened. “Isa, forgive me for interrupting you... but did he just touch your bottom?” he inquired. The journalist replied “yes” and Abad asked the cameraperson to put the “idiot on the camera” who is then shown laughing. “As much as you want to ask what channel we are from, do you really have to touch my bottom? I’m doing a live show and I’m working,” Balado told him. He denied touching her and Balado said: “I would like you to let me work.” The man insisted that he did not touch her before touching her head and walking away. After Balado apologised for the disruption to her live report, Abad said: “No, you have nothing to feel sorry for. “It makes me so mad,” he added. Spain’s national police later tweeted that a man had been arrested “for sexually assaulting a reporter while she was doing a live television show” and included a brief video clip of the arrest. People are being urged to avoid the Alps as a heatwave is expected to hit this week, making climbing conditions dangerous. Local authorities in the Haute-Savoie region, which includes the French side of Mont Blanc, warned there are higher than usual risks of rockfalls and also new crevices opening up on glaciers. It comes as a so-called "heat dome" is due to hit continental Europe. Italy, Switzerland and France have all issued heat warnings as temperatures are anticipated to hit 40C this week. Haute-Savoie authorities said in a statement online: "We appeal to everyone's sense of responsibility and judgement and urged you, where possible, to delay taking the Normal Route up Mont Blanc." In normal conditions, between 100 to 200 climbers reach the summit each day. Swiss weather authorities said on Monday that a new record had been set for the altitude of the zero-degree line in the Alps, which is the height at which the temperature dips below 0C. According to Le Monde, it was clocked overnight from Sunday to Monday at 5,298 metres, "which constitutes a record since monitoring began in 1954". Last July during a more severe heatwave, all seven routes to the Mont Blanc summit had deteriorated so much that only extremely experienced climbers could make. French authorities also closed down two popular mountain shelters due to the risk of rockfalls. Four southern regions - the Rhone, Drome, Ardeche and Haute-Loire - were placed under "red alert" for heat on Monday. This allows local authorities to call off sports and cultural events and close public facilities if needed. Meteo France said: "The heatwave is expected to peak between Tuesday and Thursday, depending on the regions. The length and intensity of this event could require stepping up alert levels in some departments.” Meanwhile, grape-pickers in wine-producing regions of southern France have been advised to start work on the harvest in the early hours of the morning to avoid sweltering in a late summer heatwave. Jerome Volle, a wine producer in Ardeche and vice-president of the French farmers' union FNSEA, told BFM TV that the grape harvest was already underway in his region. One way to cope with the heat was to "start picking the grapes at 3.30 a.m. in the morning and to stop at 11am," he said.
