Drake's half-eaten pizza is 'being sold for $500,000'
There have been many questionable items for sale in recent months, including bottles of spit and bath water. But now, Lil Yachty has jokingly suggested he's selling Drake's half-eaten pizza for $500,000 (£402,800). Over the weekend, the rapper took to his Instagram story with a snap of the partially eaten pizza. "Selling this drake bit slice of pizza for 500k," the on-screen text read. The post soon made its way over to Twitter, where one person responded: "The fact that someone will actually buy this". "We just hit a peak of the financial bubble," another tweeted, while a third joked: "Make the bread... Or sell that bread". One intrigued investor asked: "Where do I inquire?" Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter It comes after Lil Yachty joined Drake on a live stream on Saturday (3 June) for online betting agency Stake. At one point, the Toronto rapper was left red-faced after attempting to donate $500 (£400) to an online streamer – but his card declined. After entering a verification code to authorise the purchase, the dialogue box disappeared to show the payment hadn't in fact gone through and Drake would have to try and pay again. "Embarrassing," Drake sang in a high-pitched voice, as fellow rapper Lil Yachty smiled at the mishap next to him. Many more viewers turned their attention to Drake's yellow-painted nails. While some were quick to praise the star's decision, others weren't too keen on the colour choice and wished he had opted for a different shade. "I never have an issue with men wearing nail polish itself but my issue is the fact they always choosing ugly colour," one person quipped. Meanwhile, another added: "Why is Drake wearing yellow nail polish…. Ugh." Have your say in our news democracy. Adin Ross says he's been advised not to interview Kim Jong Un on his stream
Kick streamer Adin Ross claimed he's "locked in" an interview with Kim Jong Un, and US officials have warned him about the "consequences". During a live stream on Tuesday (19 September), Ross told viewers that the North Korean leader would be on his stream in the next 48 hours. "I'm getting it in today's stream. I have to address this s*** now," he said. "Listen... okay, Kim Jong Un is locked in (for) tomorrow's stream, at 7:30 Miami time. Okay?" He went on to share a handful of supposed questions, including: Thoughts on LGBT? Can you give Stake money back? React to Andrew Tate. Visit North Korea? Add Yeonmi Park to call. Trump vs. Biden. USA better than North Korea. E-date? Fake n*tsack prank. Alongside his claims, Ross said people had reached out to his legal team about it and advised him not to go through with it. "We definitely got government officials hitting up my legal team. No, I swear to god, it's not that. It got millions of views on Twitter and it's on TikTok and s**t. They see everything! The government sees everything," he said, adding: "They saw and hit up, basically, my team and they just let me know there could be consequences for this. You know?" Inevitably, the news left X/Twitter users baffled, with one writing: "I was off the internet for a day what the hell did I miss?" Another joked: "Why does Adin Ross have to be the one to represent us of all people." Meanwhile, a third fan shared their concerns, saying if the claims were true, they would "prefer to be another streamer to meet Kim Jong, not this guy." They continued: "The fact is, Kim Jong is a very serious man, and when it comes to a sense of humor, there's a significant difference between Kim Jong and Adin Ross. Kim Jong might laugh. But Laughing at Ross. Ross, if you really are meeting him, don't say stupid sh#%t. Don't disrespect him." Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Older people could see a surprising health benefit from having an active sex life
A US study has revealed that sexual activity in older people is linked to better cognitive function later. The study by sociologists Shannon Shena from Hope College and Hui Liub from Purdue University, published in The Journal of Sex Research looked at attention, memory, language, conceptual thinking, calculations, and orientation and found that sex is linked to better brain health across all age groups. Those aged 75 to 90 were found to have significantly better cognitive function five years on if they were currently having sex at least once a week. For adults aged 62 to 74, on the other hand, the most important factor for future brain health was the quality of sex being had, in terms of both physical and emotional aspects. "As seen in our sample, promoting sexual quality among younger-old couples may be a way to combat the interruptions which people anticipate to come with aging," Shena and Luib said "and these feelings of sexual quality may manifest in their later cognitive health." Shena and Liub think there are several reasons why these results could be the case. Sex involves physical exercise, which means improved cognitive performance may be due to improved cardiovascular health, which, in turn, can increase blood flow to the brain and reduce inflammation. Sex can also reduce stress, and stress is thought to prevent the neuronal growth in some parts of the brain associated with memory. Finally, sex may improve cognitive function through the release of dopamine, which is a neurotransmitter linked to improved memory. "Our findings help to contextualize a multifaceted understanding of healthy aging and speak to clinical practices and policy decisions regarding cognitive health," Shena and Luib wrote, "and in particular how it may be related to sexual life, an often overlooked area for older adults."
