LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Archer’ has been one of the most fascinating animation shows of this generation and is responsible for giving many extraordinary moments. 'Archer' to end its run after 14 seasons
The official synopsis for Season 14 reads, “Archer (H Jon Benjamin) and The Agency are finding their own way with Lana at the helm. Her goal is to make money while also making the world a better place, but she quickly finds out running a spy agency isn’t so cut and dry.”
Without any guesses, fans were a bit emotional when the news surfaced online and shared a lot of their favorite moments on social media. However, there were many who noted that ending the show was a wise decision because they wouldn’t want the show to feel irrelevant. One of the fans wrote, “Shows aren’t meant to go on forever. Dropped out after the comedy went a bit eh & after Jessica passed away. It had a good run!” Another social media user tweeted, “I think it needs to. As much as I love the show, the quality hasn't been the same since his coma, and without Jessica Walter, it's missing far too much of its core humor.” Another user wrote, “My favorite show but honestly for the best. Hasn't been the same since the coma seasons and voice actor deaths.”
“Bitter pill to swallow but glad they’re ending it on their terms. Solid show throughout and one of my all-time favs,” wrote another user. “Sad to see Archer end, but glad we get a victory lap!” tweeted another user. “Bittersweet news. Love this series,” wrote another one.
‘Archer’ chronicles the journey of Sterling Archer, the show’s narcissistic, womanizing protagonist, and other dysfunctional secret agents and supporting staff of the International Secret Intelligence Service, a fictional New York-based intelligence agency. The animation series is set in an anachronistic, Cold War-esque universe and is a parody of espionage, culture and society, and human conditions.
It is one of the highest-rated shows in modern history and won numerous accolades, including Emmys, Critics’ Choice Television Awards, and Annie Awards.
‘Archer’ currently holds a rating of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 8.6 on IMDb.
