FORY MYERS, FLORIDA: A Florida man is in jail after he allegedly threatened his two roommates with a machete. Deputies claim William McLain, 61, chased the two victims around the house, brandishing his weapon, on Sunday night, on August 13.

The property, where McLain was detained, is owned by McLain's son, according to residents who live on Adams Road. There have allegedly been issues in the past with the family residing there.

Mika Son said, “I live a couple of houses down,” On Sunday evening, she and her husband were at home when they noticed sirens and flashing lights down their street, as reported by NBC2.

Florida man uses machete to threaten roommate

According to Lee County deputies (LCSO), they responded to a report that McLain was allegedly chasing a roommate while brandishing a machete.

One of the victims informed the police that he had woken up to screams from the living room. When he entered, he observed McLain fighting with one of his roommates while holding a machete.

McLain then turned around and began pursuing both of them into the kitchen.

Why was William McLain arrested?

Deputies discovered McLain inside the house on the couch with the machete next to him. Cops surrounded the home and made an arrest.

Son said,“I don’t know, I think it’s bizarre," about the strange and dramatic sequence of events in the neighborhood. McLain was taken to the hospital for minor injuries after being arrested, according to LCSO.

He was allegedly screaming and cursing at nurses there as well, according to the police report. Deputies re-handcuffed McLain and put him behind bars after doctors gave him the all-clear.

Florida man hits girlfriend claiming he was 'helping her'

According to police, a Florida man who allegedly hit and choked his ex-girlfriend during and after a boat trip to the Florida Keys claimed he was trying to "help her".

His ex-girlfriend managed to flag down a good Samaritan who contacted police on her behalf.

Christopher Peter Suda, 45, was arrested early Monday morning, on August 14, on charges of domestic battery by strangulation and battery.

According to the woman, Suda attacked her on Sunday night, on August 13, as they entered the channel into Black Point Marina, located south of Cutler Bay.

Suda, she claimed, hit her in the back of the head three times, causing her to fall forward. Suda then loaded the boat onto a trailer, and they got into their vehicle.
