BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA: A Florida man has been booked for battery after complaints of him allegedly approacihing children spread.

The incident is reported to have taken place outside Eastside Elementary School on August 25.

As per the Sheriff's Office, around 3.17 pm, they received multiple calls and also information on suspect Christopher Povlik.

Who is Chistopher Povlik?

Christopher Povlik is a 36 years old man who hails from Brooksville, Florida. He’s currently under arrest and is charged with battery for reportedly approaching children outside an Elementary school.

Police were able to track his residence on Simona Avenue in Brooksville.

In an interview with the officers, the man admitted to speaking with students as they were leaving school.

However, he denied engaging in any physical contact with any student

What allegations does he face?

In a police investigation, two minor-aged students gave similar statements in which they said Povlik approached them as they were walking home.

He then grabbed their backpacks, which they were wearing, and physically pulled the children, aged seven and nine years old, by the backpacks.

This stopped their movement and they were unable to continue their walk or distance themselves from the suspect.

Moreover, several witnesses also gave their statements confirming the identity of Povlik, who was seen outside of the school, according to Suncoast News.

Povlik, who is in police custody, has been moved to the Hernando County Detention Center and slapped with two counts of battery. He is currently held on a bond of $20,000.

In an unrelated incident, another Florida man was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend.

Keyshawn Nicholson, who works as a cook in Burget King allegedly punching and biting her on three separate occasions.

The altercation began when she refused to hand over her cell phone.

As per the affidavit, Nicholson ordered her back into the vehicle, and the physical assault continued with him hitting, biting, and scratching her.

The woman informed officers that she had pleaded with Nicholson, saying, "Stop, you are going to kill me," reported MEAWW.

The girl managed to run away but was chased down by Nicholson. He then forced her to sit in his car again holding her by the hair.

According to an affidvit filed in court, Nicholson screamed at her girlfriend, "Where the f*** do you think you are going?"

The victim told the RBPD officers that a passing police vehicle saw their car and asked Nicholson to release her, which he complied with before driving away from the scene.
