La Liga has hosted some of the world's finest goalscorers with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo taking the Pichichi Trophy contest to the next level.
The trophy itself is handed out by Spanish publication Marca but is synonymous with the top goalscorers in La Liga.
It was an entertaining race in Spain for the top scorer prize - certainly more so than England's Premier League, where Erling Haaland ran riot - but one legendary striker led the contest throughout the season and held off the competition to win his first Pichichi.

This was Aspas' worst goalscoring season since he rejoined Celta Vigo back in 2015.
The former Liverpool forward last hit fewer than 14 back in 2012/13, but his 12 goals helped Los Celestes stay up and make the top ten in the Pichichi standings.

Journeyman Morata has endured a hectic career but has shone for Diego Simeone this season, registering his second-best league goal tally in senior football to date with 13.
Morata and Antoine Griezmann accounted for 40% of Atletico's goals this season.

Four of Castellanos' 13 La Liga goals came when he netted all of Girona's efforts in a 4-2 win over Real Madrid.
He was a fleeting threat otherwise throughout the season and evidently got on the nerves of La Liga's referees, picking up 11 yellow cards.
7. Enes Unal (Getafe)

Goals: 14
Turkey international Unal was close to creeping into the top five and will be cursing his luck over a poor stretch of one goal in 11 games.
The Getafe forward still enjoyed a successful season, even if he finished two goals shy of his tally from the campaign prior.

Goals: 15
With no penalties to his record, 15 is a seriously impressive number for Griezmann, especially if you marry that up with his 14 assists.
Hitting double figures in both is no easy feat but shows how pivotal the Frenchman was during Atletico's post-World Cup drive.

Kosovo international Muriqi almost tripled his tally from last campaign which displays his drastic swing in efficiency in front of goal.
Eleven of his 15 goals came from open play with the other four being penalties as Mallorca's designated taker.

Goals: 15
30-year-old Spaniard Iglesias led Real Betis into the Europa League with 15 goals from 25 La Liga appearances.
It was his best return since 2018/19, when he grabbed 17 strikes for former side Espanyol.

Goals: 16
Imagine coming third in the season's goalscoring chart but still being relegated. Unfortunately, that's reality for Joselu and Espanyol.
His fine form in front of goal couldn't steer his side to safety, which begs the question of whether the former Newcastle man will be on the lookout for a fresh challenge.

Benzema still finished second in the Pichichi standings after plundering 18 goals in 23 domestic outings, despite playing fewer minutes than most of his rivals.

The Poland international's inaugural season in Spain's top flight has gone swimmingly, picking up a La Liga winner's medal and the Pichichi Trophy to go alongside it.
Lewandowski is head and shoulders above the rest of Xavi's Barcelona side as the main goal threat, netting 16 more than tied second top scorers Raphinha and Ansu Fati.

Earning six Pichichi awards across a span of eight seasons was Telmo Zarra, who represented Athletic Club for 15 years. His impressive record of awards makes up half of Bilbao's Pichichi wins, with five other Bilbao players being successful.
Alfredo Di Stefano dominated the late 1950s and won four on the trot before Ferenc Puskas took over the goalscoring reins in the league to win it four times in five seasons.
