'Fast X' Review: Jason Momoa's Dante wears scrunchies, paints his nails, and defies all laws of gravity

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Fast X' just reached your nearest theatres and while fans of the franchise awaited this project for a long time, there are mixed reactions from all over coming in. The ninth 'Fast & Furious' movie, released in 2021, packed its lead heroes into a rocket car and literally shot them into space. So, with the next movie many things were expected and while the movie tried to deliver them, it really didn't.

The thing that literally saved the movie was the charm and psychopath behaviour of Jason Momoa's Dante. Momoa's playing the villian in this part and killing it, literally and figuratively. With his good looks and psychotic behavior, the film moves from being unbearable to being a breath of fresh air. Dante is the son of the Fast Five villain’s son and is here to take revenge on Dom Toretto and his 'familia'.

An opera singer with a knack for scrunchies

Jason Momoa is playing Dante in 'Fast X' and has proved his versatility as an actor. Dante is a bad man, a psychopath, but will surely give you some serious vibes of Mojo Jojo. He likes having a manicure with dead bodies, wearing scruchies and applying multi-colored nailpaints and talks about blowing up the Vatican like its a simple weekend plan, and is annoyingly funny while doing all of this. If he wasn’t the super villain, we might actually find his demeanour borderline "cute." But, all in all, he gets ten points for keeping the movie light and bearable till the end. There are many car chases and action, obviously. But, in the middle of an intense car chase, Dante is seen riding a bike opera singing his heart away. That particular scene brought out many characterstics of Dante and how he doesn't define the universal law of a "bad man" and goes against the stigma surrounding Hollywood villians.

Jason Momoa's Dante saves 'Fast X' by breaking the rules of gravity

Gravity isn't something that's a thing in the universe of 'Fast X'. While it is understandable that the movie is audience-focused and wants them to be hooked, but some scenes in the movie are just simply hilarious. There are car chases along with bike races and characters are flying in the air like the floor is lava. A scene where Dante releases a big bomb in Rome and there is a car chase with the bomb. The bomb literally travels the entire Rome, not even a dent on it and lastly ends up getting exploded in the water.

'Fast X' now available to watch in the theatres near you.
