There are big-time expectations for the Miami Dolphins this season, but the AFC East side is already facing some adversity before Week 1 even gets here. At camp, star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, a huge offseason addition, went down with a serious injury.
Now, we know Ramsey suffered an unfortunate knee injury, which required him to undergo surgery. Ramsey will now be sidelined until at least December. With Ramsey expected to miss significant action, the team has gone out and signed Eli Apple to a one-year contract.
Eli Apple will hope to make a splash with the Miami Dolphins
Going from Ramsey to Apple is not what Miami fans were hoping to see, but this is the hand that the team has been dealt. Apple, a former first-round pick, started off his career with the New York Giants before suiting up for the Saints and Panthers. He then spent the last two seasons with the Bengals.
Last season for Cincinnati, Apple posted 49 total tackles and eight pass deflections. Now, we'll have to wait and see how he does now that he'll be looking to make plays for Miami.
