LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Danny Masterson was found guilty of two counts of rape and is set to serve a jail term. His wife Bijou Philips has opened up on his conviction and compares 'treating his guilty verdict like a death.’ She had been inconsolable since the verdict was read. Apparently, while the verdict was read by a Los Angeles jury, Philips broke into tears, “She’s devastated,” a source said. “She was 'convinced he was telling the truth and that the jury would agree,” reports the Daily Mail.

It also added, “Bijou is treating the results of the trial against her husband as a death. The devastation and reality of it all are at a level that you'd never even imagine.” Masterson seemed totally shocked as jurors delivered their decisions before he was handcuffed and taken to the cells. “She's had Danny's back through this whole process and never thought this would be the result. She was convinced he was telling the truth and that the jury would agree,” continued the source.

'Catastrophic to her current way of life'

Masterson goes for 30 years behind bars and a friend of the couple noted that Bijou 'can't make sense of' what her life, including of their eight-year-old daughter. "Fianna would look like if he is locked away in prison for so many years. Her life has completely changed knowing that her husband and the father of their daughter Fianna may be in jail for the rest of his life,” the source said before adding ''It is to Bijou something that is catastrophic to her current way of life. She can't even make sense of it.'' The verdict came on Wednesday, May 31, after Masterson was officially charged in June 2020 by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office with three counts of rape.

'Masterson grew up in a Scientologist family'

Masterson and Bijou’s romance began in 2004 when the two met for the first time at a poker tournament in Las Vegas.

The ‘That 70s Show’ star got hitched in a private ceremony at an Irish castle in 2011. Masterson grew up in a Scientologist family and convinced Bijou to join the controversial church, which many refer to as a cult.
