Chad Doerman: Ohio man accused of lining up his 3 minor sons before fatally shooting them set to face trial

CLERMONT COUNTY, OHIO: Chad Doermoan, who shocked the nation after allegedly shooting his three children in ‘executive-style’, will soon be facing trial.

The 32-year-old is likely to face the death penalty for carrying out the killings.

Common Pleas Court Judge Richard P Ferenc has set the trial date for Friday, September. 22. It is expected to last up to four weeks, as per court experts.

What did prosectors say about Chad Doerman?

In late June, prosecutor of Clermont County Mark Tekulve said, “I can’t go into a whole lot of facts because this is a death penalty case, and my goal is to have this man executed for slaughtering these three little boys.”

“It is an incomprehensible act of horror that he perpetrated on this family,”Tekulve added.

He further said, “Factually, I’ve said what I said on the record and I’m going to stick with that.”

“I’ll let the facts speak for themselves. He slaughtered his three children in the most brutal fashion you can imagine, as I mentioned in court,” he concluded, reports Law and Crime.

The New Richmond Youth Sports Association (NRYSA), which is a baseball and softball organization, began a fundraising campaign to support the distressed family.

The body’s president talked about Chase, three, who came to games regularly. “Chase would always come to the games. He knew when his brothers were on first, second, or third. So he was just waiting for his turn to be able to play,” said Kristin Bennett.

Who were the victims?

Chad killed Chase, three, Hunter, four, and Clayton Doerman, seven, as per court records. According to prosecutors, Doerman ‘planned the murders for months' and admitted he hadn’t slept for days before carrying out the murders.,

“Thoughts of having to kill his sons was so heavy on him,” they said.

Coaches mourned the death of Hunter and Clayton, calling their skill on the diamond, and they remembered the fun they both used to have with their teammates.

“We just try to continue to remember how they lived. We talk about the things that they did as kids, the stories that they have with how they’ve lived their lives. The things they did on the baseball field, the things they did in the dugout. The fun things they did as being playful, joyful, loving kids,” said Clayton’s coach Dwayne Kuhn.

“Those are the things we really focus on and the things we think about. And we continue to do that, it’ll help us get through this,” Kuhn added.
