Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti and former club Everton have settled their High Court dispute.

Ancelotti's lawyers filed claims against the Toffees, who he managed between 2019 and 2021, earlier in June relating to 'general commercial contracts and arrangements'.

Very few other details are known about the case, with both parties consistently declining to comment on the matter both before and after a resolution was found on Tuesday.

Ancelotti's barrister said in a statement: "Carlo Ancelotti and Everton Football Club have reached an amicable resolution to their dispute. Carlo has enduring respect and a deep affection for the club's fans and wishes them and the club the very best for the future."

Everton appointed Ancelotti as their successor to Marco Silva in December 2019. He led them to a 12th-place Premier League finish in his first year before guiding them to tenth in his second and final season.

The Italian then resigned as Toffees boss in order to return to Real Madrid for his second stint. Ancelotti guided them to La Liga and Champions League glory in his first campaign back at the Santiago Bernabeu, becoming the first manager to win each of Europe's top five leagues in the process.

Everton have only narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship in their first two seasons without Ancelotti. Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard have both been sacked in that time, with Sean Dyche now at the helm at Goodison Park.
