LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Camila Cabello shared her evolving perspective on beauty and empowerment.
Speaking to People, the 'Havana' singer said, "It's really evolved so much. I feel like when I was younger and I started working, beauty was just the last thing on my mind."
Camila Cabello says beauty felt 'frivolous' to her
Ahead of the L'Oreal Paris Women of Worth event on November 16 in Los Angeles, Cabello spoke to the outlet about her journey with the idea of beauty.
"Being in an immigrant family ... it felt frivolous to me," said the 26-year-old, adding "Now I'm like, 'No, it's actually just an expression of joy and what it means to be alive.' I'm obsessed with beauty now. It's just so fun."
Cabello called her mother Sinuhe Cabello "a big inspiration" as she credited her as a major influence on her beauty journey.
She stated that her mother provided honest advice by emphasizing that looking one's best boosts one's confidence.
"She will be like, 'Your whole vibe is amazing, but you got to fix that part.' For her, it's always been [about how] looking your best really makes you feel more confident," Cabello said of her mother.
"It's not some frivolous, shallow thing. It makes you feel better for you. It's true," the 'Bam Bam' singer added.

Along with her evolving idea of beauty, the 'Familia' singer also highlighted the connection between feeling good and empowerment.
"When I feel the most connected to myself, when I feel aware about what my feelings are when I feel like I'm just really in tune with myself," said Cabello.
"To give an example, if I'm feeling tired and I'm just mindlessly scrolling through my phone, I stop and I check in with myself. I'm like, 'Okay, am I doing this because I feel anxious? Do I feel a little lonely?'", she added.
According to People, Cabello who is the brand ambassador of L'Oreal Paris united with her fellow ambassadors Eva Longoria, Kendall Jenner, Andie Macdowell, and Helen Mirren during Paris Fashion Week.
They walked the runway during the L'Oreal Paris show on the Esplanade of the Eiffel Tower.
"It just feels like we’re cute. Thank you for surrounding me with the most supportive amazing girls at these events @lorealparis luv you," Cabello wrote on Instagram, sharing clips of the event and her walk on the runway.
