The HFM US Services Awards is one of the fund industry’s most prestigious events and Calderwood received this accolade at a ceremony held at Guastavino’s in New York on 13 September. Calderwood co-founders, Ronan Guilfoyle and Wade Kenny collected the award on behalf of the firm, with directors Laura McGrath and Charles Thomas.

“We are so delighted to be recognised by HFM again, especially to win back-back awards and to spend another great evening in New York with our industry colleagues has been very special,” Mr. Guilfoyle said. “This award is testament to our incredible team and in particular to our fantastic clients in the US who continue to put their trust and faith in us.”

The awards recognise excellence among US hedge fund service providers across a range of metrics, focused on innovation and client service, as well as strong and sustainable business growth over the past 12 months. After a rigorous selection process, with a judging panel comprised of leading hedge fund executives, awards were presented in a range of categories.

Receiving its second award in two years, Calderwood was able to demonstrate another strong year of growth, in terms of client numbers and the continued expansion of the team. The Calderwood team of highly experienced independent directors has now grown to nine, with the appointment this year of UK barrister Clare Price, following the 2021 hires of US hedge fund counsel Laura McGrath and Cayman Islands attorney and regulatory expert Anna Goubault.

Calderwood’s fundamental approach to governance is to provide highly experienced independent directors with a limit on each director’s number of relationships to ensure the appropriate attention can be given to each client. This has generated the firm a first-class reputation for helping clients navigate a constantly changing regulatory landscape.

Since launching in 2016, Calderwood now has some 300 fund manager relationships. The firm also offers a range of specialist regulatory and compliance services and has a presence in Asia and Europe, to provide time sensitive services in these time zones.
