In a candid conversation with Jimmy Fallon, Allen revealed that Disney had approached both him and his fellow cast member Tom Hanks, who voices Woody, regarding the possibility of another sequel to the beloved 'Toy Story' series.

Jimmy Fallon asked Allen what every fan has been wanting to know ‘Is there a Toy Story 5?' Allen said "one of the original creators of the series said" and then he named Bob Iger, saying "the head of Disney said it was odd. He actually said it would happen."
Allen added that "they have reached out to Tom and I to reprise the roles." Allen did not dwell on whether they agreed or not. "They are not saying anything about it," he added. The actor further commented, saying, "being a sci-fi buff I was wondering if four parts of the movie is enough or five too many."
He then let fans in on a secret saying that one of the writers working on the movie, (referring to the person as one of those who wrote the better scripts ) said, "If I didn't get this right I wouldn't do it."
Allen then concluded saying the writer would be looking for a very interesting way to link all the installments to the potential fifth movie of the franchise.
