Bayern Munich are hoping that Harry Kane's value will extend beyond his goal-scoring prowess, as substantial sales of his shirt are now expected following his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur.
The England captain successfully secured a £86.4m (€100m) move to the Bundesliga champions, who broke their club transfer record to meet Tottenham's valuation of the England captain.
Kane was handed the number nine shirt, previously worn by Robert Lewandowski until his transfer to Barcelona last summer, and made his Bayern debut within hours of signing for the club. There were no goals from Kane as Bayern lost Germany's annual Super Cup, but big things are set to follow both on the pitch, as he hunts for the first trophy of his career, as well as off it.
A report from the Mirror suggests that Bayern are hoping to sell as many as one million shirts bearing Kane's name and number, such is the increased attention on the club by signing a popular player.

Bayern wouldn't actually net the entire cash pot from those sales, given that that adidas already pay them £52m per season for the licensing. But kit deals usually include payouts for a percentage of the profits on top, with estimates that the club could still get £30m from Kane shirts.
Were they to repeat that in future years, although there would likely be a tail off regardless of releasing new kits every season, Bayern could potentially recoup their outlay by the time his initial four-year contract is coming to an end in 2027.
Two years ago, Bayern surpassed Manchester United and Real Madrid by selling 3.25 million shirts globally. During that time, Lewandowski was the preferred choice for fans looking to personalise their shirts with a name and number. Lewandowski contributed to sales of 790,000 shirts in his final season at Allianz Arena, generating a substantial £79m. Upon his departure to Barcelona last summer, the club lost both his goal-scoring contributions and their top position in shirt sales.
Manchester United surged ahead in shirt sales due to Cristiano Ronaldo's presence at Old Trafford at that time, while Real Madrid secured the second spot. Last year, Kylian Mbappe outsold all other players, with 970,000 fans purchasing Paris Saint-Germain tops featuring his name and number.
