LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bam Margera is finally taking rehab seriously thanks to his five-year-old son, Phoenix. According to TMZ, Margera's son was serving as motivation for the former professional skateboarder to become sober after spending years struggling with drugs and other forms of addiction.

The former star of the MTV reality stunt show, 'Jackass', was recently placed on psychiatric hold and subsequently sought treatment at one of Lamar Odom's rehab facilities. To his delight, his estranged wife, Nikki, has allowed him to talk to their son again.

Bam Margera and his son speak over FaceTime

Nikki's attorney, David Glass, told the outlet that she allowed Margera to speak to their son and they were doing so over FaceTime while the 43-year-old was in rehab. Margera's FaceTime sessions with Phoenix were being overseen by one of his therapists and till now, things have proceeded positively.

Nikki is not talking to Bam

Sources reportedly told TMZ that Margera was still in treatment at one of Odom's rehab facilities and Nikki was not communicating with him on the FaceTime calls. The two have been fighting ever since she filed for legal separation. This does not come as a surprise as it was previously reported that he had sent her a series of "abusive" texts. The outlet reported that Margera mostly initiated the FaceTime conversations with Phoenix, with him going on for about five minutes.

Bam Margera previously threatened to 'smoke crack' until his death

MEAWW previously reported that the 'Bam’s Unholy Union' alum threatened to "smoke crack" until his death unless he was able to see his son in a now-deleted rant on social media. "I haven’t seen Phoenix in two f*****g months. I have to wake up every day, knowing that I probably won’t get to talk to him or see him," he wrote. The pro skateboarder was taken into custody for domestic violence in March after he was accused of kicking his girlfriend. At a Los Angeles restaurant, he was taken into custody again for public intoxication.

Margera has reportedly been battling addiction since 2009 and has been to rehab a number of times. He broke out of a court-mandated recovery facility in Pennsylvania over three times.
