MIAMI, FLORIDA: Kick streamer Adin Ross recently reacted to Twitch celebrity Imane Anys, widely known as Pokimane, apologizing "for making a joke" amid the Myna snack controversy.

For the unversed, Pokimane garnered media attention on November 19, 2023 after responding to a reviewer who was unhappy with the cost of Myna Cookies.

Adin Ross reacts to Pokimane's apology

In a recent video, Adin Ross broke down into tears during a webcast after reading Pokimane's apologies. He asserted that the co-founder of OfflineTV (OTV) was probably coerced by her management to make a public statement.

He said, "You don't have to apologize for making a joke! You don't have to - why are we apologizing for joking?!" (The streamer bursts out laughing while reading Pokimane's tweet)

He continued saying, "Her talent agency - her manager made her write that s**t! Get the f**k out of here, bro! Stop! Why would you apologize? Why?"

Adin Ross went on and said, "Why apologize for making a joke? What's the point?! We know it was a joke. I knew it was a joke, that's why I laughed at it! It was funny."

Why did Pokimane apologize?

While responding to the criticism over the pricing of cookies under her brand Myna Snacks, the Moroccan-Canadian celebrity said during a livestream, "It makes my brain go boom when people are like, 'Oh, my god! $28 for cookies?!' It's four bags. That's $7 a pack. I know math is hard when you're an idiot. But, if you're a broke boy, just say so."

Pokimane's remarks drew a lot of criticism, with online users calling her "out of touch".

On November 20, 2023, she issued an apology, saying that her comment about being a "broke boy" was "100% intended to be a joke". "While what I said was 100% intended to be a joke, I see why it came off as insensitive and I apologize for that."

She went on to state, "I also understand the current price of the cookies may be expensive for some, and promise we’ll continue to consider pricing to keep Myna as affordable as possible."
