3 teams that could get Bradley Beal to waive his no-trade clause

NBA Star Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards are looking for a trade but Beal has a no-trade clause. Here are three teams that can get him to waive it.

Bradley Beal has been one of the NBA's best players for the last six seasons. He is a three-time All-Star, was All-NBA third team in 2021, and was a 30-point-per-game scorer in 2020 and the 2021 season. One of the things that plagued Beal is that he hasn't played over 60 games in the last four seasons.

Over this past season, Beal averaged 23.2 points, 5.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds on career-high efficiency from the field at 50.6 percent and 36.5 percent from 3. But he only played 50 games.

As the Wizards have two other 20-point-per-game scorers in Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma and Beal enters his 12th season at age 30 it is time for him to move on. Beal is currently under a five-year, $250 million deal with a player option for $57 million in the final year and a no-trade clause meaning he can nix any trade he doesn't like.

Teams that can get Bradley Beal to waive his no-trade clause: 3. Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers have one of the best packages to offer to the Washington Wizards. For the last six seasons, the 76ers have failed to get past the second round. They have tried many different things, hiring Doc Rivers, trading Ben Simmons for James Harden, and in their latest attempt firing Rivers for Nick Nurse.

With the uncertainty of where James Harden wants to go this offseason, Bradley Beal could be a nice change of pace. To make things a little better 2023 MVP Joel Embiid had expressed interest in trading for Beal at the 2022 trade deadline.

Bradley Beal will give the 76ers scoring and a little bit of playmaking. Playing alongside a superstar like Joel Embiid, forces Bradley Beal to not be the guy, as he has been for the last six seasons in Washington. Beal has not been known to have playoff flameouts like Harden and Embiid have had, so he can give them an extra push come the postseason.

The only way that the 76ers can pull off this trade is to send something like Tobias Harris and two future first-round picks. Since the 76ers are giving up Harris, they might still have enough room to sign James Harden if he chooses to come back in the offseason. The 76ers could have a starting lineup with James Harden, Bradley Beal, and Joel Embiid with Tyrese Maxey coming off the bench.

That should be very appealing to the 76ers and appealing enough to Bradley Beal to waive his no-trade clause.

Teams that can get Bradley Beal to waive his no-trade clause: 2. Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers have been one of the most disappointing teams since the 2019 offseason when they signed the reigning Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and traded for a top 3 vote-getter in both the MVP and DPOY in Paul George. Since then the Clippers have always been mentioned as contenders for the title but failed to do so — blowing a 3-1 lead in the second round against the Nuggets in 2020, losing to the Suns in six games in the Western Conference Finals in 2021, missing the playoffs entirely in 2022, and losing in the first round to Suns this past postseason.

One of the biggest factors for the Clippers' failures has been injury, as Kawhi Leonard has been dealing with an ACL tear and Paul George seems to get nicked up. With that being said, it is time for the Clippers to make a trade to shake things up.

A Clippers trade for Bradley Beal will have to look something like Terrance Mann, Nic Batum, Robert Covington, Marcus Morris, Eric Gordon, and two first rounds picks for Bradley Beal and Delon Wright. That is a pretty hefty package for the Clippers to give up but they need all those players to match Beal's big contract.

Having a starting lineup of Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Ivica Zubac with Norman Powell and Bones Hyland off the bench should be very intriguing to the Clippers and Beal. Let's not forget that Beal played a season with Westbrook in 2021 where Beal averaged a career-high 31.3 points per game.

The Clippers with Bradley Beal should be in a prime spot to win a championship and should be a team that gets Beal to waive his no-trade clause.

Teams that can get Bradley Beal to waive his no-trade clause; 1. Miami Heat

The Miami Heat have just finished one of the most improbable playoff runs ever by making the NBA Finals as the No. 8 seed. Since Jimmy Butler has been on the team, they have made the conference finals three times and the NBA Finals twice. Each time it has been the same story where Jimmy Butler needs a co-star.

The Heat should strongly be pursuing Bradley Beal. He will give the Heat another scoring and playmaking option around Jimmy Butler which he will desperately need when it comes to the postseason.

The Heat have a lot of players and there are many different potential trades that they could pull off in order to get Beal — one of them being Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson, a 2023 first-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick. This one is more unlikely because Lowry is aging but it allows the Heat to keep Tyler Herro where he can resume his role as the best Sixth Man in the league.

If the Heat wanted to pull off a Bradley Beal trade, the package will more than likely be centered around Tyler Herro, who is about to enter the first year of a four-year, $120 million extension. Instead of giving up Lowry, the Heat would just do Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, and the two first-round picks for Bradley Beal.

Either trade for the Heat won't affect them that much, as they can try to keep important role players such as Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Caleb Martin and Kevin Love, all of whom played key roles in this year's Cinderella run. The Miami Heat with Bradley Beal will be one of if not the favorites in the Eastern Conference.
